I decided to take part because I wanted to try something new, learn new skills, and make new friends. What was the most fun aspect of the programme for you? Getting the jerseys, celebrating my birthday, and playing with the fluffy balls. We made a fun TikTok too. What has been the best part about being part of a new team and club? Being part of a team, learning new skills and making new friends. Name: Jess O'Connor Age: 8 Club: Rosegreen LGFA Why did you decide to take part in G4G programme? All my friends were doing it and it looked like it was going to be fun. What was the most fun aspect of the programme for you? The best part was playing the games at training. Also new girls joined after a few weeks, so I made some new friends. I love my New Jersey too. What has been the best part about being part of a new team and club? I like the way it is girls only and boys are not allowed to join. It's fun playing the blitzes too. Sometimes the boys can be very rough so I'm not so worried about getting hurt Name: Colleen Chen Age: 10 Club: St. Brendan's GAA Club Why did you decide to take part in the G4G programme? I recently moved to Ireland from China and as I'm really interested in sport I wanted to get more involved in Gaelic football. What was the most fun aspect of the programme for you? I like the matches the best, they are so fun! I also like learning from the game, the training helps me learn and move quicker. What has been the best part about being part of a new team & club? I've gotten a lot of exercise through Gaelic4Girls and I've also made friends. I enjoy getting more skilled in Gaelic football and the support from my coaches, they're so patient and nice. Name: Mary Beth Bergin Age: 8 years Club: Rosegreen LGFA Why did you decide to take part in the G4G programme? I decided to take part because I find when playing with the boys in our local club I am not as confident as when playing with just girls. What was the most fun aspect of the programme for you? I have learned lots of new skills and made new friends. What has been the best part about being part of a new team & club? I have grown in confidence and enjoy playing the game. Because a lot of my friends doing it What was the most fun aspect of the programme for you? Playing with the girls and making new friends. Getting lots of ball time during training.
