STRATEGY 1 Games Development & Refereeing Strategic Goal – To create a game-centred environment with a coherent player, coach and referee pathway to increase participation and the performance levels of our Province's elite Inter-County teams STRATEGIC OUTCOME 1 Enhanced games programmes at child, youth and adult level to support increased participation and standards STRATEGIC OUTCOME 2 Better qualified coaches by achieving GAA Mandatory Coaching Standards for Club, School and Inter- County team coaches STRATEGIC OUTCOME 3 To have raised the performance and competitiveness of our Inter-County teams from Talent Academy – Senior, by embedding best practice principles • Review effectiveness of our premier competitions at Minor, Under 21 and Senior to deliver higher playing standards • Work with counties in providing improved games for Academy Squads • Carry out an audit of participation at club level and develop plan to maximise participation at child and youth level especially in urban areas • Review efficteveness of of games programme at Club and Schools level to meet needs of all players • Build on existing cross border club collaboration with Kildare, Meath and Wicklow, while engaging with other counties to increase games opportunities for youth players • Build on and improve Provincial Feile concept • Work with Leinster GAA 'Games for All' Committee in delivering their goals • Have appropriately qualified coaches working with teams in line with GAA mandatory coaching standards 2018 • Carry out an audit of current coach qualifications at club and inter County level • Develop a Coach Education Strategy that engages with the 8,000 qualified coaches since 2009 • Make delivery of coach education Club and games based, through provision of more CPD workshops • Provide Up-skilling for our Tutor workforce and place a focus on recruiting hurling Tutors • Initiate a training programme to attract ex Inter-County players to gain coaching qualifications • Meet Child Protection requirements related to coaches • Expand rollout of New Leinster GAA Resistance Training Course to enable coaches to provide appropriate physical development to reduce injuries • Work with Croke Park in optimising GAA E-Learning site and developing resources to support coaches • Continue to work and support the designated senior hurling counties Carlow, Laois, Offaly and Westmeath to develop a best practice development pathway from grassroots to elite level • Engage with specific Div 3 & 4 football counties to improve their performances and pathways • Work with all counties in developing a coherent plan for their Talent Academy Squads • Work with counties in identifying and training people to enhance team preparation in areas of S&C etc • Develop education programme around development pathway for players, coaches and County Officers • Embed age appropriate skill development player pathway in our Clubs, Schools through to County teams • Engage with 3 rd Level Colleges to provide Sports Science supports to counties 8
