STRATEGY 1 Games Development & Refereeing STRATEGIC OUTCOME 4 Increase the number of active well-qualified referees STRATEGIC OUTCOME 5 Better organisational structures in place delivering the programmes to increase participation and performance leves of our players, coaches and teams • Carry out an audit of current active referees • Identify referees' training needs • Develop action plan to drive recruitment and training of new referees • Recruit and train corps of new referee Tutors and provide improved in-servce programme • Establish teams of mentors to support new referees • Develop a definitive merit based referee pathway from Club to Inter-County level • Provide training for umpires • Work with Croke Park in raising profile of GAA Respect Programme • Challenge effectiveness of our structures and funding model,to deliver on games development strategies at county level • Increase contact time of games personnel in Clubs to improve their coaching structures • Establish Steering Group to oversee development and delivery of policy in each County • Develop training programme for Club Coaching Officer • Enhance and maintain Club-School link scheme in Primary Schools • Work with International Partners (Europe, MiddleEast, Australasia) to enhance their structures to support growth of our games • Work with Cumann na mBunscol Laighean, Post Primary Committee and 3 rd Level Colleges to enhance our games • To develop a participation strategy with Leinster Handball and Rounders • To colaborate with Leinster Ladies Gaelic Football Association and Leinster Camogie Association delivering joint programs 9
