www.ladiesgaelic.ie | SUMMER 2023 | 13 MATCH Preview Q: With Cork now through to play Dublin in the semi-finals, how do you see this playing out? I don't think Cork are at the level of Dublin. Comparing both quarter-final matches, Dublin are definitely a step above, as are Kerry. Conditions definitely had a part to play, however Dublin have a spread of quality players across the pitch, whereas Cork rely heavily on the O'Sullivans. Who are the key players to watch out for on both teams? Cork have Ciara and Doireann O'Sullivan who are their driving forces. Libby Coppinger and Melissa Duggan are also leaders that Cork look to. Dublin have a bigger spread of influential players in Leah Caffery, Lauren Magee, Hannah Tyrell, Carla Rowe and Kate Sullivan, not to forget a sub of the quality of Sinéad Aherne! Sum up what lies in store and give us a predicted score? There is no doubt that old rivalries and history will give this game plenty of spice! It has the recipe for a physical encounter. I predict a score line of Dublin 2-14 Cork 1-08. While we have you, how do you see the semi-final between Kerry and Mayo playing out? Kerry are my pick for All-Ireland winners this year. I love their attacking style of football and their physicality. I can't see Mayo being able to compete at their level. For me, Kerry and Dublin are a cut above the rest. Mayo have, however, showed good form and are a solid outfit. They will not go down without a fight!
