JUNIOR DIVISION
JUNIOR SHIELD
The Junior Shield final was as an all
Dublin affair between Scoil Ui Chonaill
and Ballyboughal. Ballyboughal had
been convincing in front of goals in their
qualifying stages scoring 3 goals in their
quarter final and 4 goals in their semi. This
proved as good practice before the final as
they ran out winners on a scoreline of 6-04
to Scoil Ui Chonail's 2-08.
JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
The Junior Championship was a closely
contested in the final stages. After topping
their group Castleknock (Dublin) overcame
Kilcock by keeping them to the low score
of 0-5 points. In their semi final the
Castleknock team found the net 5 times
which got them over the line against
Devenish St Mary's (Fermanagh)
On the other side Naomh Anna Leitier
Moir (Galway) topped their group and were
drawn against Gratton (Longford) in the
semi final. An impressive 3-10 saw them
through to the final.
Castleknock and Naomh Anna were
evenly matched and it made for a great
final. Naomh Anna played well and kept
the Castleknock threats at bay long
enough to claim the title with a scoreline
of 2-09 to 1-06.
