Kildare may have run out convincing winners in the end but Roscommon were no push overs. Aoife Gavin gave her team a great start as she hit the Kildare net after ten minutes. Both sides were served well by numerous leaders. Neasa Ryan, the Kildare captain, inspired her team throughout the game. Aimee O'Connor did her best to keep Roscommon in the game as she scored all of the Rossie's 6 points. Kildare were ahead 2-07 to 1-02 at half time but credit to Roscommon, they did their very best to overthrow the leaders in the second half. In the third quarter Roscommon ran directly at the Kildare defence and caused them a lot of problems. Kildare centre back Lauren Murtagh deserve a mention for her controlled leadership and composure to guide her team to absorbing the Roscommon attack.
