4 | Policies & Procedures Our Teachers Philippa Banks I'm from South Africa and trained and worked as a graphic designer for 15 years before settling in Dublin ten years ago. My children are now teenagers, however when my youngest was small he needed a lot of extra support to learn to speak and relate to others. I created visual aids to help him with this, and through this experience I started my business making visual supports for other children. As I gained skills and understanding in working with little ones who need extra support my passion for working with children evolved. I ran a Lego club for some years and taught the children in our local church. When I finally found the opportunity to work full time with children I grabbed it with both hands, studying part time to complete my qualification. This will be my third year teaching at Mo's and I find it very rewarding. Working with the Montessori curriculum is powerful, it's a fantasticway to teach. The children learn so easily with it. I particularly love doing creative things with the children and helping them in their journey of discovery! Hi, my name is Gráinne and I'm very excited to be your child's teacher this year. I thought you might like to know a little about me. I was born in Dublin and have lived in Baldoyle all of my life. I am a busy Mam with three children (the youngest of which attended Mo's Montessori and loved every minute) and my little grandson who brings so much fun to our family. I began working in Early Years Education 10 years ago and I am passionate about the work that I do. In 2014 I set up a voluntary support group for new parents in Baldoyle. This proved to be an incredibly rewarding experience. I am currently studying towards my Degree in Early Childhood Education and Montessori. I hope this year will be full of new learning, fun, art, music and lots of adventures. I look forward to a great year together. Grá inne Broaders
