Leas-Cathaoirleach Comhairle Laighean CLG A chairde, The decision to formulate a fresh Strategic Plan for Leinster GAA really focuses the minds to assess where we are and perhaps, more importantly, where we want to be in the future. Like our players on the field of play who are constantly striving to better themselves, it is a similar ethos for Leinster GAA: that the business of being the best we can possibly be is a journey and not a final destination. That is why I am delighted to have been a part of this project and will be excited to see it continue into my time as Cathaoirleach of Leinster GAA. The GAA is many things – but ultimately it is about People. To acknowledge the invaluable commitment and volunteer service of people in every Parish, Club and corner of Leinster GAA is vital. To do all that we can to make their job easier and more rewarding with obvious signs of progress is essential. We provide significant resources for Games Development within the Province. For example, €4m is allocated annually along with another €1.5m in grants to Clubs, Schools Grounds and County Infrastructure. In addition, we have approximately 33,000 children taking part in the Cúl Camps programme in Leinster. We see these figures as being the tip of the iceberg as to what we can achieve and hope that this Strategic Plan will enable us to grow and reach new targets. In thanking all of those who spent time in developing this project and putting this Plan together, I hope all of us will see it as a resource to keep us focused on driving Leinster GAA forward to even greater success.
