Strategic Goal – To provide facilities that will optimise safety, enable participation and enhance people's match day experience STRATEGIC OUTCOME 1 Each County ground upgraded and developed to a high standard capable of enhancing our games STRATEGIC OUTCOME 2 Adequate fully-functioning playing/ training facilities in each County to support County team preparation, club activity and increase participation STRATEGIC OUTCOME 3 Safe, well-managed facilities in place to support our players, volunteers and encourage greater family participation at our games STRATEGIC OUTCOME 4 Clear strategy in place to support the long-term development of facilities in the Province STRATEGIC ACTIONS • Work with County committees to agree proposals for upgrading County grounds • Agree policy to develop grounds to standard of a minimum 2,000 seats for people comfort and families • Monitor and ensure safe capacities at each ground • Work with NISC in supporting development of grounds STRATEGIC ACTIONS • Provide appropriate expertise to counties in completion of County training centres • Identify and seek support for development of additional playing fields to support games activities in urban areas • Work with Croke Park in utilising Abbottstown • Engage with potential partners to provide additional facilities STRATEGIC ACTIONS • Review progress recommendations of Slattery Report on stadia in the Province • Leinster GAA Health & Safety team continue to inspect all facilities to ensure compliance with relevant criteria • Conduct spectator research • Work with County committees in improving provision of ancillary facilities and services on match days • Provide training courses on facilities management to Club and County officers • Work with Croke Park in enhancing people's match day experience at the venue • Recruit and train appropriate number of match day stewards • Develop a scheme to reward excellence • Maintain rollout of L6 Event Controllers' Course STRATEGIC ACTIONS • Explore with Croke Park the feasibility of a modern stadium in the Province to act as an economic driver • Carry out demographic review to determine our long-term facilities needs to support participation • Review Club and County grants criteria • Draft a database of costings for materials/equipment/buildings etc. as a guidance tool for clubs and County committees • Develop a 5-10 year facilities plan STRATEGY 2 Facilities 12
