2 | MA in Criminology Criminology is an exciting inter-disciplinary subject that draws on sociology, psychology and law to focus on issues such as the causes of crime, the meaning of crime and deviance, and the social reaction to crime. The MA in Criminology consists of core modules in criminological theory, the study of the justice system, training in research skills and methodology, and provides students with the opportunity to undertake optional modules in a range of specialised areas including criminal psychology, desistance – routes out of crime, victimology, policing and crime prevention, youth offending & youth justice perspectives, prison policy, criminal law, and prison law.
