PART ONE: WARM UP - BALL FAMILIARISATION
What is the aim of the session?
Maximise the off season to refine your ball
handling and basic skills.
What do I need to set up this pattern?
Multiple footballs.
What will the exercise layout look like?
See set-up below.
How do I execute this exercise?
• Divide the group into pairs.
• For
15/20 mins, work on all the basic skills of
the game as well as ball handling exercises
in a fun environment. Play music in the
background if required.
• Introduce a second ball per pair if required.
• Important both sides of the body are utilised.
• Two skills that can be developed further in
this session are the block and the tackle.
