I know it was lovely to know that it was coming back to Laois so that was the main thing. "It was a great year all round but at the end of the day we are a team sport. It's all about the team. By DARAGH SMALL T here was plenty of guesswork when it came to TG4 All Star night at the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin on Saturday 19 November. Gongs were on offer, players travelled from the length and breadth of the country to pick them up and no one could tell what way it would materialise. There was intrigue surrounding the 2022 TG4 Ladies Football All Star team, who would get the call to etch their name in the history books. Monica McGuirk was the first successful candidate, a third All Star for the Meath goalkeeper, and so on it went. The Royals picked up six All Stars, Kerry won five after their heroics reaching the final, while Mayo, Armagh, and Donegal shared the four other awards. But shortly before this, the TG4 Intermediate Players' Player of the Year was named. For this one, we had a bit of certainty. Laois was the final destination no matter what, with Aisling Donoher, Erone Fitzpatrick, and Mo Nerney all vying for it. PLAYER FOCUS
