There were topics in the modules I was interested in learning more about. What has been the best thing about your involvement in the programme? I really enjoyed listening to the experiences of the guest speakers. Vikki Wall was brilliant. There was a good variety of different module topics. What have you learned most from your involvement in the programme? I have learned that there is far more involved in club life than just playing football. Has the programme changed how your approach your own involvement in ladies football? I have a better understanding about what goes on in my club and the different roles and activities I could get involved with in the future. ELLA O'TOOLE Corofin, Galway Why did you get involved in the programme? I got involved with this programme in order to further my knowledge on how I can be a leader within my club. I also got involved with this programme because I wanted to get a better understanding on what goes on behind the scenes in a club and certain aspects I may be interested in as I get older. What has been the best thing about your involvement in the programme? The best thing about being involved in the programme were the opportunities we received to experience the workshops and talks from various people including recent All Star Vikki Wall and it was a pleasure to talk to her. Getting to know the other girls on the course from around the country was definitely one of the best things What have you learned most from your involvement in the programme? I learned how even at 17 I can be a leader in my club if I choose to be, how if we put ourselves out there and sometimes push beyond our comfort zone we could make a huge difference in a local club. I also learned so many new things from resilience to the meals we should be having 4 hours before a game. Has the programme changed how your approach your own involvement in ladies football? Yes, it definitely has changed my approach in my involvement in ladies football. I will try to become more involved by coaching or doing more refereeing. I will try help other people to get involved by doing coaching/ refereeing courses. I will definitely put my best efforts into using what I have learned from this course to inspire others to do it as well. BERNADETTE McKEON Edenderry, Offaly Why did you get involved in the programme? I have a keen interest in all aspects of the LGFA, and I felt that this would benefit me in the future. What has been the best thing about your involvement in the programme? The best thing for me was the teamwork skills I developed when we were put into break-out rooms to discuss our ideas on certain subjects such as nutrition. What have you learned most from your involvement in the programme? I learned not to be afraid of trying new things and different methods for the same tasks and also to voice my opinions. Has the programme changed how you approach your own involvement in ladies football? The fact that you're not the best at football doesn't mean you can't be involved within the LGFA in many different aspects.
