40 | SUMMER 2021 | www.ladiesgaelic.ie DEVELOPMENT T HE Ladies Gaelic Football Association, Lidl Ireland and Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health, were delighted to host a special Facebook Live event to celebrate the achievements of clubs who recently participated in the Lidl One Good Club™ Mental Health and Wellbeing programme. This special show, hosted by Marty Morrissey, was broadcast LIVE on the LGFA's Facebook Page on Thursday, May 27. Lidl's One Good Club™ is a five-step youth mental health awareness programme for local clubs, developed in partnership with the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) and Jigsaw, the National Centre for Youth Mental Health. Details of the programme were revealed at the 2020 Lidl National Football League launch – with 25 clubs across the country chosen to participate following the receipt of over 900 nominations from local communities. The start date for the Lidl One Good Club™ programme was delayed due to Covid-19 – but activities in the various clubs finally got underway in March 2021. The response from the communities involved was incredible and hence the LGFA, Lidl Ireland and Jigsaw wanted to reflect upon the memorable ten-week journey, with prizes for 'Strongest Community Involvement', 'Most Innovative Initiative' and 'Best Overall Engagement' being presented. A huge congratulations to all clubs involved for the immense work completed and all clubs received a set of jerseys, an equipment pack and a Lidl One Good Club plaque for the club. The three clubs awarded an additional monetary prize were: Strongest Community Involvement – Magheracloone, Monaghan - €2,500 Most Innovative Initiative – Ballyduff Lower, Waterford - €2,500 Best Overall Engagement – St Nathy's Sligo - €5,000 On the night, Marty Morrissey chatted to Lidl One Good Club™ ambassadors, representatives from the LGFA, Lidl Ireland and Jigsaw, and participating club members who outlined the life-changing impact of the programme. This was a hugely successful initiative and it was down to the commitment and hard work of all clubs involved. Well done to everyone! MAGIC OF LIDL ONE GOOD CLUB CELEBRATED
