www.ladiesgaelic.ie | WINTER 2019 | 11 came in, it was the likes of Martina Farrell, Louise Kelly, Sorcha Farrelly, who is on our management team now, on to Denise Masterson and Maria Kavanagh. "It is a whole different era now. I have got to experience three waves of it which is nice." Dublin picked up a record seven All-Stars at the end of 2018, with McGrath taking her place at No 6 on that team. That was her third All-Star, having won one in 2009 and '10, but her tally became four this year after some outstanding displays in another brilliant season for Dublin in 2019. And having made her debut in a league match against Laois way back in 2004, McGrath held off the competition from teammate Sinéad Goldrick and Galway's Louise Ward to claim the TG4 Senior Players' Player of the Year Award, 1 5 years later. "I was just delighted for my Thomas Davis clubmate Olwen Carey to finally get an All-Star," said McGrath. "It was a really good night for the club. They are absolutely delighted to have two of us getting them on the same night and I am thrilled for her." At the end of November, Bohan announced his intentions to stay put for 2020 and McGrath knows how crucial it is to keep the entire team together, in a year of transition. "He is massively important. He has brought such professionalism and does so much work behind the scenes," said McGrath. "But he makes sure he has an unbelievable backroom team with him that does the exact same work. They are a force, they just really put everything into us. "Seeing what they put in, it makes us want to put in the same effort. It builds a massive unity within our team. If you don't have that I don't think you can be successful. "Not having Leinster next year will change our preparation. I don't know what is in store because the league has changed a bit and there is an even bigger gap. "If we have no Leinster we are another game down. It isn't great for Leinster and none of us want it but we just have roll with it. It is up to the management to prepare us. "They are the ones who will decide how we prepare and what we do to get ourselves in the best shape." Other Page: 2007; Norita Kelly, Cork, in action against Siobhán McGrath. 2.
