Examining the number of shots taken by each team, Kilkerrin-Clonberne come out ahead with 26 shots to Mourneabbey's 18. The Galway women had 8 more chances to put a score on the board than the defending champs but still lost by a point. Overall, Mourneabbey converted 61% of their shots, while Kilkerrin- Clonberne could only manage a 54% conversion rate. This, coupled with the fact that two of the Mourneabbey shots ended up hitting the back of the net, meant that even with their reduced number of chances, they earned a greater return for what they created. STOPPING MOMENTUM The second half saw Kilkerrin - Clonberne play with an eagerness to move the ball forward as quickly as possible by either hand or foot. As these frees were not in scoreable positions, it was a sacrifice that they were willing to make.
