40 // Ladies Gaelic Football Association SEÓ BEO PHEIL NA MBAN LE LIDL PEIL Autumn | Issue No 3 | Volume 14 ith the support of Lidl and The LGFA, TG4 and Tyrone Productions produced and aired a brand new live television event to celebrate the 2018 LGFA All-Ireland Finals. Seó Beo Pheil na mBan le Lidl aired on the eve of the TG4 Ladies Football Finals and heralded that start of something new – Ladies All Ireland Finals weekend being a wonderful opportunity for the celebration of all female sporting achievements in Ireland. TG4 bring n ew addition to All I relan d Fi nals Weeken d The 90 minute programme was presented live from the Mansion House by Gráinne McElwain and Dáithí Ó Sé. During the programme there was a variety of entertainment including discussion panels and music. A variety of well-known faces were both in the audience and on the stage during the course of the night. Former Irish Rugby Captain Fiona Coghlan, Paralympic Swimmer Ellen Keane, Former Cork Footballer Valerie Mulcahy and Irish Hockey Player and World Cup Finalist Nicci Daly discussed the reality of the female athlete in Ireland. Author Louise O'Neill, TD Mairead McGuinness and broadcaster and sports psychologist Máire Treasa Ní Cheallaigh reflected on some milestone moments for Irish women in 2018. Then it was time to debate the big match! Former Dublin captain Denise Masterson, the legendary Cora Staunton, Tyrone Footballer Mark Harte and one of Cork's most decorated defenders Bríd Stack shared their thoughts on the Final and also their stories from being involved on the big days themselves. On top of all the discussion the show had a number of musical acts including Áine Cahill, John Spillane and Lucia Evans. During the show a specially commissioned video 'Phenomenal Women' was shown. This wonderful piece of work captured the imagination of all who saw it as it went viral across the All Ireland Finals weekend.
