4 // Ladies Gaelic Football Association LATEST NEWS PEIL Summer | Issue No 2 | Volume 14 John West Féile Peile na n-Óg 2018 112 LGFA teams took part in the John West Féile Peile na n-Óg Competition, hosted by clubs in Down, Louth and Meath, with some clubs also from Armagh, Cavan and Kildare. 2,600 girls from LGFA teams took part including seven overseas teams, with Delco Gaels from Philadelphia and Gloucestershire competing for the 1st time. DIVISION 1 CUP FINAL: Éire Óg (Cork) 2-02, Westport (Mayo) 0-5 DIVISION SHIELD FINAL: Walterstown (Meath) 1-08, Senchelstown (Meath)1-02 Also the weekend previous there were 25 LGFA John West Féile na n-Óg Skill Stars Competitors who competed in The National Skills Star Challenge on Saturday, June 23rd, at the National Games Development Centre in Abbotstown, Dublin. Kiana Donnelly from Sarsfields (Armagh) and Ciara Smyth from Skryne (Meath) were joint-winners on a score of 90. Sophie Ngai, from Kilcullen (Kildare) was in third place with a score of 85. PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS Provincial Silverware is all accounted for now as the big hitters continue to dominate the provincial finals. Donegal clocked up a massive score against Armagh in Ulster. The very talented Saoirse Noonan set CIT alight with 2 goals on her Senior debut for Cork. The always interesting Connacht final saw a win for Galway over their biggest rivals Mayo. Mayo have been known to bounce back even stronger from Provincial defeats in the past. In Leinster Dublin eased past Westmeath while a recently re-graded Laois captured the Intermediate title. TG4 CONNACHT FINALS Senior: Galway 0-17, Mayo 1-12 Intermediate: Roscommon 4-17, Sligo 1-14 TG4 LEINSTER FINALS Senior: Dubln 5-11, Westmeath 2-08 Intermediate: Laois 2-13, Wicklow 0-13 Junior: Louth 3-09, Carlow 0-08 TG4 MUNSTER FINALS Senior: Cork 5-13, Kerry 2-10 TG4 ULSTER FINALS Senior: Donegal 9-21, Armagh 4-08 Intermediate: Tyrone 6-12, Down 1-07 PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS Entries for Half Time Exhibition Games Competition are now open. There are 4 categories to apply for with a total of 16 teams required.
